Exclamation Bad Problem shifting 1-2 HELP!

When I go WOT and the car gets ready to shift it feels like it is hitting the revlimiter and sits there for a second or two then it fiunally shifts. I thought my rev limiter was too high so i set it back to stock and still have the same problem. If i run it up to around 5k without WOT it shifts good. Iam thinking it has somthing to do with the transmission please tell me differently! When It goes from 2nd to 3rd gear it is perfectly fine! Please Help!

I had the same problem a year or so ago and I purchased a TCI Governor spring kit and the problem went away

Hm Is it hard to put in? I have the HPP+ installed in it now I can change the shift points with that. Dont know if that makes a difference or not.

To get a second opinion, you might want to ask in the drivetrain forum....Frank might know. Just post a post that says "Frank Help Me" he will come....lol

Ok...Let's start here. First, the "governor spring" won't work in your car. His is a '93, which is still governor shifted. Yours is electronically shifted.

What you're most likely feeling is the 2-4 band not holding because it's burnt up. It's a common problem in FACTORY 60E's. We make many improvements in this area when we rebuild them.

Oh thanks Frank just want I wanted to hear . I dunno if this has anything to do with it or if it is a different problem. But when I am crusing down the interstate at a steady pace 70 mph or so, if the road starts to curve and I have to start turning just slightly it downshifts then up shifts then downshift untill I start going straight again. Damn if this trans goes it will be my 3rd one!! Seriously considering T56 swap.

That's a step in the wrong direction... What you should really consider is a good transmission builder. Fortunately, I happen to know the best

Have you checked your fluid level? Usually low fluid will cause a neutraling out problem, not a downshifting problem. You could be feeling it falling out of 4th because of the toasted 2-4 band.

Re: Bad Problem shifting 1-2 HELP!

I took the car to my buddy and he said there is some sort of thing in the transmission that controls the shift speed or somthing like that? he said he had a tool that could tighten it up. what I think is happening is that it is shifting slow but it is shifiting so slow that my engine is hitting the rev limiter before it shifts. do you have any clue on what kind of tool or what he was talking about?

EPC solenoid? Also known as a pressure control solenoid, or force motor solenoid? Adjusting it will raise pressure, but that's not what's causing your problem.
