Any problems with TCI?

I was wondering if anyone has had problems with any TCP product. Especially the torque converters. I have heard good things about them.

Are you running the stock cam with that size converter?

yeah its a stock cam and all stock internals. i wouldn't recommend any less stall because you'll want more. i wish i would have went 3800 or 4000 now

Re: Any problems with TCI?

they built me a 700r trans thats been giving me probs. first one lasted about 10 miles sent that back at a cost of over $400 for taking it out reinstalling it and shipping both ways and now 200 miles later 2nd gear is gone this time the costomer service was much better though. they are letting my mechanic fix it and just sending them the bill. for the $400 bill they stuck me with i am having to take them to court. i also have a converter from them but that has been good.

Re: Any problems with TCI?

I have a TCI breakaway converter in my 94 which I installed with a local built 4L60E and I love it.
No problems with the TCI unit but as stated above I wish I had gotten a bigger stall.

Re: Any problems with TCI?

only about 200 not really long enough to find out if its going to go or not. but when the trans is working right along with the converter its a ton of fun to drive.

Re: Any problems with TCI?

Well like I said I was planning on going 3000 with a 227/233 cam. Maybe I'll step up to the 3500 TCI. The only thing I'm worried about is my motor making the TC rev higher than that.
