...Another 3.73/4.11 Question

I took my car to the track the other week and I went though the traps really maxing out 3rd gear. I really didnt want to shift that far down the track, I would like to get through the traps right before I redline 4th. My question is that would 4.11 gears be too much where I would be maxing out 4th, or would I be better off going with 3.73 gears? The car is a 94 T/A M6 w/ a 3.42 rear. Also, would I even notice much of a difference if I were going from 3.42 to a 3.73?

There's a whole thread in the Drag Racing forum about the same question.

I'm gonna say go w/4.10's (or 4.11's), as 3.73's aren't worth the effort from 3.42's.

Definetly go with the 4.10/4.11. I believe at redline in fourth you'll be doing about 110 so as long as you aren't trapping higher than that you should be fine with them.

With my current setup 355 ci custom grind cam, 2800, 4.10's, 27" QTP, & 150 shot I was trapping 127 at 6900 RPMs. I'm going to switch to 28x10.5 ET Drags so I can up the shot to 200 or 250 :-)
