A4 slipping on 1-2 shift: Rebuild Ideas
A4 slipping on 1-2 shift: Rebuild Ideas
Im not sure if it will need a complete rebuild or not but I was curious about the different options I have. I am going to the tranny shop this week to get an estimate and would like some opinions on the prices to expect.
Ive seen people talk about the FLP stuff as being good and I was also wondering about the Art Carr super rebuild kit. I just couldnt get a lot of information off their website about it.
Any ideas or opinions?

well u have to decide if you want to stick with the 4L60E type of trans.you can do a th350 or th400 swap and they seem to be the trans of choice to handle high hp cars, both will handle more power then a 4L60E.if your plans are just for a streetable bolt on car a beefed up 4L60E should be fine.i got my stage 3 level ten trans from levelten.com with their 2800 stall.flp sounds good and so does Art Carr.you just want to choose a company that has a good background.while u do the tranny id also do a higher stall(2800-3200) and if your rear main seal is leaking now is a good time to change that out

This is a street car with occasional track use. Im planning on keeping the 4L60e and not replacing it. I drive it hard so I want it strong but I dont want to have really aggressive shifts that give you whiplash. Does anybody have experience with the Art Carr kits or FLP that was positive or negative?
