97 Z 28 howling from right rear

Have 97 Z 28 with 125,000 mile. I have a howling sound from the right rear. I have had the car examined by about 5-6 mechanics and all have different conclusions. Suggestions ???

right rear of the car, or right rear of the engine?
if its the car like it sounds then this does not belong here

if you think we are going to be able to better diagnose the problem from that description than a tech that actually looked at the car you are crazy

at least give us the diagnosis that they came up with, and alot more information

I had a similiar noise from my rear and it ended up being the inner pass side carrier bearing, it was shot, all chewed up. I found it after I swapped in a used $100 axle off ebay. I had around the same mileage as yours.

I'm going to assume the noise is from the right rear (axle) and move this thread to "Drivetrain", since its not an "LT1 Based Engine Tech" topic.
