95 Camaro Z28 Trans issues

I have a 95 Camaro Z28 with an auto with the 4l60e tranny. When i bought the car, the fluid was burnt, so i changed the fluid about a month ago, dropped the pan and added 5 new quarts. I checked the fluid the other day after only driving the car about 200 miles in the last month. The fluid is burnt again, Should i drop the pan again or do a flush this time? When i dropped the pan last time, there were no shavings in the pan, which is a good sign. The car shifts kinda hard and firm, moves through driving gears quick. While I'm on the tranny, i might add that when I put the car in reverse from park it's pretty quickly there, but when i go into overdrive and then back to reverse it takes about 2 seconds or so to engage, is that normal?? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

If the fluid is burnt after 200 miles after just changing, sounds like its time for a rebuild...Find the biggest trans cooler you can get and install it after getting the trans rebuilt.

Why do you think it's burnt? Dextron fluid always smells burnt but isn't...

Wrong forum. Moving to "Drivetrain".

My dad smelled it and said that it smells worse than what it smelled like before i dropped the tranny pan and added 5 new quarts.
I only dropped the pan and added 5 new quarts, there were no shavings in the tranny pan, and the tranny shifts good and firm, from what i've heard slow shifting is what tears tranny's up, mine is shifting quickly through passing gears, so I don't believe its time to spend 1k on a tranny rebuild. I'm wondering if its time for a tranny flush or maybe i just need to drop the tranny pan and add 5 new quarts again, since all the crap fluid in the converter mixed with the new fluid and more than likely diluted it, anybody with any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. BTW, how much fluid will my tranny take, this should give me more of an idea of how much fluid was left in the torque converter and other areas of the tranny, since i only added 5 new quarts. If it's over 10 quarts needed, my guess is that the old fluid has diluted the new fluid

Pull the dipstick out and with ur index finger and thumb grab the oil off and move it around ur fingers to feel for any clutch material. U could slowly be burning up the clutches if ur valve body is acting up.
