94Z Trans Issue

Looking into buying a 94 Z28 from a local seller. Car sounds great, runs awesome, but has on issue. The trans refuses to shift before 4k rpm's. Is this a minor electrical problem or am I looking into serious transmission issues?

The transmission could be slipping. If you do buy it, demand 2500 off of the price. I bought a new transmission from GM, and had them install it. Came to about 2400. The transmission itself costs 1500 or so.

Re: 94Z Trans Issue

Took it for a ride today. It takes a second to go into drive when the shifting from park or neutral. Also, if I take my foot off the gas it shifts. So lets say Im driving, about 3300 rpms hits, i pull off gas, it shifts. wtf is wrong with this trans? Do I need to rebuild it or is it something little?

Definitely sounds like it's dying. Mine did the exact same thing. Try flooring it. If it does not shift on it's own, and you need to let off the gas then too, then you know forsure. But yes, your transmission is about to let go.

Could be a TPS issue.
