Shifter Problems?

Sorry, this might be the wrong forum but no one ever answers the driveline threads. My 93 A4 Z, had a broken tranny mount, so i replaced it. The shifter would get all gears but if you put it in OD, the motor would rev free. I had all gears but OD, and it drove great. Now i drove it today and D started reving freely like OD, i Pull over and the only gear i have is reverse. When i just had the OD problem, a local and very good tranny guy said my shifter just needed adjust, and that he had seen this happen before. Anyone ever heard of this or had it happen. Do people have more problems with the 93 4l60 than the 94+ 4l60e? And if i have to replace it, can a 4l60E be put in? Again sorry for the wrong forum.

Well i thought about that, but just the day before when the tranny mount broke it was driving and shifting great, this all started when that mount broke and the tranny moved.

Re: Shifter Problems?

Take it to the tranny guy and have it adjusted....

But you may just need to crawl under there and look at the linkage, set it to neutral on the trans, set the shifter to neutral, lock it down. If this is greek... take it to the tranny guy.
