700r4-transbrake

well not one reply.
i am impressed.
art carr had one advertised at one time but you go onto there web site and no were to be found.
i even asked both sponsors on this site,if they had any knowledge via email to yet no reply.
I guess they spending to much time trying to boast who builds the best transmission .
one would assume that there is a 700r4 trans brake, being made out there but ill have to do more Google search,
wow found one in Australia ,but at $1400.
i do not think so,
so come on members there must be some one who has knowledge of a manufacture/transmission shop,in the USA,that makes there own.
cheers, Dave

Dave,
Some companies were messing around with the idea of a T-Brake 700, but they just proved too unreliable. The 700 just has a few weak areas that can't be made strong enough for T-Brake use. Yea, I'm sure some of these parts could be made from billet, but the market just isn't large enough to tool for them.

Sounds like the 700 just has to many weak points to hold up to a t-brake. The t-brake puts a lot of force through the trans. If you are that serious about racing to think you need a brake, why not go to a TH350 or 400?

Have you considered swapping for a 200r4? They have transbrakes for those, and 200's have been shown to hold up to a lot of abuse in the turbo Buicks.

Added bonus: you get to keep your overdrive gear!

I didn't notice that you're from Australia before.

Don't you have any 3.8L turbo Buicks down there? Grand Nationals, T-Types, Turbo Ts?

I suspect that the '89 Turbo Trans Am had this transmission too, but I'm not sure.

Your previous post asked for experience from people who had used a transbrake on a 700R4. Did it ever occur to you that you didn't get any replies because no one here has one?

Fred - you said it better than I could. That attitude bugs me as well.
