4l60e trashed 2 pumps in 2 weeks?

I am about at my end with this transmission, anyone know why I have lost 2 front pumps is two weeks. This transmission has just been rebuilt due to the first pump locking up and now 10 days after the rebuild it has locked up again, I can't find any reason for it to be locking up it trashed the torque convertor the first time and almost did this time. Anyone got any Ideas? Thanks.

My only thought is the primary way to damage a pump is to not have the converter push all the forward... The transmission will still bolt up just fine but will put forward pressure on the pump gears and seals causing it to "blow up" .

With the tranny in the car there should be about 1/2" of distance between the bolt holes on the flex plate and converter. You should have to pull the converter a little foward to meet the flex plate.
I'm sorry but that is all I know about damaging front pumps??

I did have it pushed all the way in because I had to move the converter to meet the flexplate. Thanks for posting.
