Have you checked it for codes?

No I have not yet.

Would a bad Solenoid A cause this? I have been reading and it sounds like that might be the possible culprit.

Yes, it could be an "A" shift solenoid.

Hi Frank,

I scanned it and got:

Code 84- 3-2 downshift fault

This is the only code I got.

Looks like a good place to start. I can't recall ever seeing a 3-2 solenoid cause only 2nd and 3rd though.

Could it be possible that my transmission is in limp mode? I found someone else that had the same trouble code and only had 2nd and 3rd. He replaced the 3-2 solenoid and everything was fixed.

Limp mode is usually 3rd gear only, but in some cases, it will have manual 2nd. If you have a 3-2 code, change the solenoid.

Problem is fixed!

I replaced the 3-2 downshift solenoid, along with the 1-2 and 2-3 solenoid.

Cool. It's always nice when it's a simple, inexpensive fix. This is why it's always a good idea to get one of these things scanned before ripping into it.

No problem, Fred. I use a pretty simple philosophy. I don't mind helping with the trans stuff. There's alot of things I don't know everything about, and I know it's nice when people help me with those things. Forums are about helping eachother find solutions to problems.
