3 And 4 Series Carrier?

3 And 4 Series Carrier?

what is the diffrence between a 3 series carrier and 4 series carrier?

I didn't know there were 4-series carriers?! I only knew of 2 and 3? My guess would be that they are for gears lower than 4.10's (maybe 4.56's and lower?!? ).

Otherwise, 2-series are for gears upto 3.08 or something like that, then 3-series are from 3.23 - 4.10 (although, you can order just about any ratio for whatever carrier you've got anyways).

The 3- and 4-series carriers are use in the GM 12-bolts. I think the 3-series is generally used up to 3.73 gears, and the 4-series is used from 3.90 on up. But it is possible to get some gear ratios, like the 3.73 for both carriers. The space allowed for mounting the ring gear is what is different.
