Post 1994 Z28: Must go!

1994 Z28. Green with tan cloth interior. T-tops. Automatic, mileage 83928.

Mods are Hooker catback (no cat) 3:73 gears with 3 series carrier, NR white gauge faces, scanmaster in the right vent, and HPP3 (I only use it to set the speedo). Also have an accel CAI and SLP(?) STB I took off, but can put back on.

The trans is slipping between 1st and 2nd at WOT. Also appears the intake oil leak has returned, I had it fixed about a year ago.

I would like to get $4000 for it, but I will consider any offer, or trade. I need a good daily driver, the T-bird is about ready to take a dump...

This is what I got from Kelly Blue Book. I didn't really know your options, so I assumed you have power windows and locks.. I also selected "Fair" condition because of the trans and intake leak.

1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Coupe 2D

Engine: V8 5.7 Liter
Trans: Automatic
Drive: Rear Wheel Drive
Mileage: 83,000
Equipment
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo/Cassette
Dual Front Air Bags
ABS (4-Wheel)
Alloy Wheels

Consumer Rated Condition: Fair
"Fair" condition means that the vehicle probably has some mechanical or cosmetic defects, but is still in safe running condition. The paint, body and/or interior need work to be performed by a professional in order to be sold. The tires need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage. The value of cars in this category may vary widely. A clean title history is assumed. Even after significant reconditioning this vehicle may not qualify for the Blue Book Suggested Retail value.

Private Party Value $5,425
Private Party value represents what you might expect to pay for a used car when purchasing from a private party. It may also represent the value you might expect to receive when selling your own used car to another private party.

Well, I looked up the blue book value when I decided to sell. I think I got $6300. I took 2k considering price for repair of the transmission, and the intake. Maybe I am selling to low, but I tried to trade/sell the car recently... B-lots were giving me between 2.5 and 3.5K. These cars are not selling, they say... I tried to trade it to a Ford and GM dealer, Ford didn't even want it, I think they would only give me 4K, GM I think went 5K on trade. Another car payment just isn't what I need right now, might be getting laid off soon.

And although this will sound like BS, if I take a hit on this car to another site member, another person who loves these cars, im willing. I was going to keep the car and do a head/cam setup, but just isn't going to happen anytime I can see. I just can't afford it.

If the car don't go here, I think I will just keep it and put it on blocks or something until I can afford to fix it.

Well, I'd love to take it from you, but I have a house to save for. But I AM spreading the word amongst my friends. Even offering to help them with the intake repair...

I hear you Mike, gettting my house was the best thing I have ever done.

Unfortunatly, Id love to keep the car, but it just wouldn't be the best thing to do right now. I kind of like having 2 Z's.

I apreciate you spreading the word for me. Thanks!
