1994 LT1 4L60E into a 1995 LT1 question
Having a heck of a time locating a 1995 LT1 4L60E (to rebuild) but can locate 1994 4L60E transmissions routinely around here.
Don't have a 94 or 95 4L60e in front of me...so my question is beside flashing the 1995 PCM with a 1994 bin are the two connectors the same?
I realize that the 95 has the extra PWM circuit...but are the connectors otherwise interchangeable?
Thanks

I don't think the connectors are any different, just the extra wire on the 95. However, I think there are some internal differences that might have been discussed before in the drivetrain forum (where this should have been posted). You might look for info there.

I think the connectors are physically the same on the outside. If there is no obstruction on the 94s trans plug where the extra pin would be on the 95 connector, I think it would plug in. Or it may be that the 94 has the pin slot that is used on the 95, but is vacant. I don't really know. Then, there would be no issue.

Re: 1994 LT1 4L60E into a 1995 LT1 question
For an update:
Located a Mr Goodwrench rebuilt tranny with painted code: 5CHD which codes as a 1995 Chevy G2500 van with 5.7
The case is stamped 7CCD which means it was a donor from a 1997 Chevy G2500 van with 5.0
Opened it up (spotless) and it has a 1994 valve body -but- with the extra PWM solenoid installed just as a 1995 valve body would have.
The connector also has the extra PWM pin "U". Have a 1994 4L60e on the floor and it has 12 pins, this 1995 compatible unit has -13- pins (pic). Also have a couple of 1994 wiring harnesses for the 4L60e and they both have -12- wires. So I don't know where these articles mention 11 and 12 pin connectors.

Re: 1994 LT1 4L60E into a 1995 LT1 question
The 13TH pin in the '95 trans is for the PWM solenoid. Pay close attention to what you may think is a '94 valve body. The '94 and '95 valve bodies are the same casting but the TCC regulator valves are different. The '93 has a 1 piece TCC reg valve whereas the '95-up uses a 2 piece valve. These valves can be interchanged between valve body castings, BUT, they have to match the separator plate. The '94 plate is missing the holes over the TCC reg valve area. The '94 and '95 pumps are different as well.

The rebuilt tranny came out of a 1995 2wd van with 350 engine. It has the PWM pump, extra pin and the extra PWM solenoid -but- the valve body has a cast date of "94". I can only assume that the Mr. Goodwrench shop retrofitted the 94 valve body?
