1993 T-56 swap
1993 T-56 swap
I was wondering if there were differences when swapping a T56 into a 1993 camaro, as opposed to 94-97, I know there are differences unique to the 1993year, and most of the writeups Ive seen for the swap were for 94-97cars, and most of the searches Ive done on here showed most of the cars were 94-97. Anyone know? Thanks.
Re: 1993 T-56 swap
it is the same, i also have a 93 and used instructions from the internet. the reason i believe you cant find directions for a 93 is because the camaro didnt come with a t56 until 94
Re: 1993 T-56 swap
As far as I know, the Borg-Warner T56 was used in the 93 models. There were several differences though, including the absence of the "skip shift" solenoid, the operation/output of the VSS, and the gear ratios. In fact there were two different T56 options for that year... M28 (3.36 1st gear) and the M29 (2.97 1st gear), as opposed to the 94 and later versions, with the 2.66 1st gear ratio.
There would be no difference in the A4->M6 swap procedure, except that you don't have to wire up the skip shift solenoid (or bypass it as most people do).
