Hello,

i've a 12 bolts Strange new rear end with Eaton-Posi HD unit.

What are your suggestion about lubricant in as i dont have many choices here :

* Mobil 1 LS 75W-140 can be used by itself without additive ?
* Mopar limited slip additive is ok ? (can be found here)
* anything available from Castrol ?

 

Why don't you go with the factory recommendations? Synthetic fluid is death to Eaton posis, it can cause the clutch material can come off from the disks.
Regular 90w-140 without any additive is what Eaton calls for and it works just fine.

it must be strange so because i received my complete rear end with oil + additive. I haven't kept the addtive bottle so dont remember what it was but there was one in the package from Strange.

Also it was a brand we can't find here.

You recommandation is to go with regular oil without nothing ???

 

ok, i've lookf for the oil bittles in garbage (bwwaaa) to find what oils were given by Strange for the complete rear end.

It was :

* Lucas Oil Synthetic 75/140
* the Gm additive

it seems strange because on the LUCAS oil it is written it dont need any additive more.
Also strange that Strange give me synthetic oil if this oil can be harmful to the rear end.
