12 bolt question, different than most...

I've had the abs diconnected on my car for several years now. It needs a new abs module, but the module is about 400 bucks and involves pulling most of the dash out to gain access to it. Well, now I need a 12 bolt, but if I get one without the abs provisions I will save quite a bit of cash, since my abs isn't connected anyways, and I have no plans on dropping the cash to replace that module anytime soon, should I just get the 12 bolt with no abs provisions? Can they be added at a later date, say if I decide to replace the module and have abs again? I need to order the 12 bolt pretty soon to get the car rolling again, but cash flow has dwindled a bit lately so any amount I can save on this would be awesome.

I don't believe it can be added later unless it's a 3ch system with the sensor in the pumpkin, and even then only if it's done the way it's done with a 9" rear. (With the 27-tooth geat welded to the DS.)

If you're talking the Moser or Strange 12-bolt, they cast in the required casting for the sensor, and I also believe the inside of the pumpkin has to be larger due to the reluctor ring that goes on the Ring Gear.

I'd go without ABS. If you know how to drive your car you don't need ABS.

Basically I guess I just need to know if I go without the abs provisions do I need to do anything else other than not plug in the existing sensors in the rear, since they'll have no place to go.

Not an answer to your ABS question, but if you have to replace your 10-bolt, you may want to give serious consideration to going straight to a ford 9-inch.

Not because of the strength, but because of the drop-out center section allowing fairly easy gear swaps.

Just leave tie it up, you will have no problems.... but I hope you don't even plan on putting it back into the car... the pumpkin won't have the provision for the sensor.
