Re: 12 bolt gears

Ok, now I am confused. I know Moser uses US gears. So is US Strange gears the same gears Moser uses?

Not unless they specify us strange, they may use an usa made product. Richmonds are made in the usa so ask before you buy.

Re: 12 bolt gears

US Gear Corporation makes the gears for Strange Engineering, and they are labeled "US/Strange". I use the US/Strange Pro Street 4.11's and they are problem free.

Re: 12 bolt gears

So far, I have found the following Maunfacturers

US Gear/Yukon/Strange -
Richmond-
Precision Gear-
Motive Gear-

Superior Gear is also a manufacturer but I think that they are just relabled US Gears product.

From a strength standpoint I think Richmonds & US gear are probably equal. I have been trying to find the quietest gearset. I have found that Richmonds tend to be quieter that US-Gears. I know thats backward from what most people will say, but in my 12 bolt that's what I've found after a couple of sets of each. Neither one is dead silent. I have a Precision gear set in the garage ready to go in next. Haven't tested Motives.

Re: 12 bolt gears

I think the setup is the main determinate of how noisy a gear set is.
