12 Bolt....or 9"

Well, I think I am running on borrowed time with the ol' rear diff.

I was wondering whether or not a 12 bolt was much stronger than the 10bolt. I really don't know much about this, but a 9" package on eBay said it wasn't..... (I KNOW I KNOW....they are saying that, and selling the 9" so it figures, but I don't want to spend $2K on a not much better scenario.)

I see Injuneer running a 12-bolt and he is running a **** ton more power than me, but who else is??

Where did you guys buy your 12 bolts/9" from? (Companies like Strange or Moser, and what sites did you actually purchase them from?)

I run N20, and will soon be adding a custom grind cam. I have a M6 with 3.42's and was wondering what gear ratio would benefit me the most...3.73's or 4.10's.

Gas Mileage is not a concern, but having a worthlessly short first gear under N20 is.

Re: 12 Bolt....or 9"

A 9" is gong to be stronger than a 12 bolt. That's not to say that a 12 bolt is not considrably stronger than a 10 bolt. Also the 9" will chew up more power and couldn't support 3 channel ABS easily.
Another option you might want to consider is the Strange Engineering Dana 60.

You have an LT1 with 3 channel ABS? Get the Strange 12 Bolt. Its a bolt in. Uses the stock drive shaft and sway bar, no problem at all
