10-bolt questions

I understand that these rearends are known for breaking, but what exactly is it that is so notorious for breaking? I hear so many people say that their rear broke but WHAT exactly is it that breaks?

90% of the time, it's the gearset. You can try and do everything in the world to try and strengthen the rear, but when it comes down to it, it's still a 7 5/8" ring gear.
