Wierd times....

OK.. when i was stock (cept for nitto 555r's) i ran 13.5 @ 105.1 witha 2.1 60'

now, my 3d gear syncro is messed up, i wasnt expecting to get faster than a 13.5... but.. i did out a MTI lid.. gutted cats, clutch/flywheel... and fatter tires, but not drag radials (the normal nitto555) well i gotg a 2.2 60' afraid to launch hard b.c i snapped axle last time at track on dragradials... but all 4 times i grinded had into 3rd(couldnt shift for a second or two) al 2.2 60's but i went 14.2 @ 106.1 !!! that doest make sence! i know the time was going to be slower, but with being in neutral for a good 2-3 seconds.. howd i get a 106.1?!?!?! i got betwee 103-106.1 in teh 4 runs.. with grinding hard into each one...

anyone know the answer?

Re: Wierd times....

Even with a bad launch / bad run, it's surprising how your car can really make up speed by the end of the track.

A couple months ago, my Dad's '73 was running ~13.2's @ ~105, then we opened up the exhaust, I ran a 13.8 @ 109!! (horrible launch, but a lot more speed?! ). The next run I got the 12.79 @ 109.72. But still, it's weird how times/speeds can vary so much.

I think you REALLY need to get that synchro fixed, and start running lower 13's!
