Who exceeded/met/fell short of their '02 goals?
Who exceeded/met/fell short of their '02 goals?
Just wondering who achieved their goals, beat their goals and who didn't even come close.
I know I fell pretty short. '03 should be a little more interesting though.

I had a good year. Got almost everything i wanted done.
I "unofficially" set the nitrous "stock head/cam" Lt1 record for the board at 11.25. I wanted to try for 10's but the valve springs went on a vacation and it wasnt worth swapping springs for 1 day of racing, when the heads will be getting done.
Next year,i just hope to have the car out by the end of season.

Well , had a busy spring planned .....LOTS to do to the car but it was stolen before the I started ripping into it , that was in March . I didnt have the car back in possesion and repaired until late August . Did heads , cam , tranny swap , roll bar . Got to the track like 2 times to try to get some tuning done as the car is terribly rich . Blew the tranny up late September , so I got cut short and never got the car tuned . This year was total wash
. I cant really complain too much since they stole the entire front clip of my car , I got a 2001 ram air front clip and a new paint job for the cost of my deductible .....ching
Well just have to make up for it this spring
. Hope to have th350 w/ brake , 4500-5000 stall converter , spooled 9" rear , hal fronts , spohn TA , lots of weight reduction all installed and and ready to go so I can enjoy the racing car the entire spring/summer/fall

Fell way short of my goals cause of shops not fullfilling there time period quotes for work. I will be up and running for next season cause of the last bits are being done by me.
My goal of having fun though was fully met and have had a blast with the car though

My goal was to get the car out and not have it break.
I got it out, and it didnt break. And the second pass down the track was 10.95 @ 126. Not too bad Id say. Didnt have the wastegate spring cranked down and got 5 psi of boost.
Have lots to learn in the spring!

Short. I had a few stupid problems after my heads/cam install (which I didn't do till the end of May). Then I just didn't have the money to play around w/ stuff.
Finally got the car running right at about the end of the season, and was working on tuning it in. Only sprayed her once at the track....was running WAY too rich (bottle pressure not high enough + tuning too rich), and it was popping the whole time down the track on a 75 shot. Ran another 11...but not nearly what the car was capable of.
I was HOPING MSD would have sent my Digital 6 they were fixing back to me in time to go for one more run at the strip. I wanted to spray a 150 shot on her. My goal was low 11's...and I think I can still hit that how she sits now.
Next year, it is all about just racing it, and keeping the mods simple (don't have the funds to do any modding anyway). I'll be doing some simple weight reduction, and if I can get any $$, perhaps some more advanced weight reduction (skinnies, K-member, etc.). I want the car to squeeze into the 10's by the end of next year. With enough work, I think I can do that.

I was gunning for a 10 second pass with my SBE car. Just couldn't hook it up. Best time in sig. MPH indicates a 10.8x. I can't go to the track that really hooks (No Problem) because I need a rollbar.
I guess I might have to get one to run the #'s.

I try and have multiple goals over a seasn.
1. Qualify for the IHRA Division III Bracket Finals
2. Win a race at each of my home tracks
3. Win the Season Championship at one of my home tracks
4. Win my class at the Bracket Finals.
I did qualify for the Bracket Finals.
I won two races at Oxford Dragway, and had two runner ups, and won three at New England with a runner up.
I won Street ET at http://www.newenglanddragway.com for the season.
I blew up my transmission at the Bracket Finals so that goal has to wait until next year.

"Best of times, worst of times".
Best - first year running for points at my local track
Worst - I finished 29th in points (about the middle).
Best- ran my truck for 5 bracket races. Learned how to dial in.
Worst - car was broken for those races.
Best- car was featured in GMHighTech for the the LT-1 bolt on shootout.
Worst -was running only 14's in the shootout due to a broken plug wire (caused by the prior day's header install).
Best - runner up finish in the Fall Pontiac Nationals.
Worst - clutch and trans went the next day in bracket's.
Best- made a lot of new friends at the track.
Worst- the off season.

I fell short of my goal of getting into the low 12's. My best run is in my sig. Hopefully next season when I am not working on a 4-second funny car, I will be in the low 12's with the few additions I have made on my car.
far short.
Only took the race car out once all year (roll cage install and some other stuff). Ended up running too much race gas and I couldn't put enough timing back in to gain the power back. Couldn't do a burnout
. Car wouldn't hook. All my fault. Too many changes at once to too many different systems.
On my street car when I finally thought I had the traction problems solved (added LCA relo brackets) I broke the tranny mount. Haven't been back but the car is now sporting a Yank 3,200 (old was a SLP 2,400) and I am confident of a solid 12-sec pass. However, everytime I am confident about a new best with this car......something fails either the week before, enroute or at the track.
If the tracks were open RIGHT NOW....I would be happy with the numbers it would post.....I think.

I did well but was hoping for 12 teens to 12.20's before the end of this year b/c my older bro said it was not possible with my small cam and heavy car. Last year at this time my car ran 12.60's with n20 and now it runs 12.30's w/o the n20 and a slipping tranny. Now that I fixed the trans the tracks are closed till January so I will have to wait till next year for my loww 12's N/A and loww 11's on the gas. I had a good time tuning and racing my car this year and it was at the track many times. Later clint
