Thumbs up

Started the year looking for 12.20 with Bolt-Ons without turning the car into a beer can. Mission accomplished.
Late in the year shot for 11.99 with bolt-ons and reasonable weight reductions. Oh well, came with in .07 of it... but still VERY happy.
Finally got a car in a national magazine... goal for MANY years.
2003 should be interesting. My track opens back up Jan 6th. Quest for 11.99 will continue.
Steve...

My plan was to run 12.99 or better this year with boltons and a small cam. My first run was a 12.87 and it only got better from there. Unfortunately I also has a goal of dynoing 340+ rwhp and ended up with only 327.9rwhp.

Goals for this coming year are 11.99 @ 116mph+ with ported heads and a big cam plus putting down 380+rwhp

Missed mine. Set out on a NA 355 6 speed 10 sec. car. Early in the year I broke the outputshaft on my tranny..down for a while to fix that one. Came back strong and headed for my goal. Went a 11.03 @124 at the thunder racing shootout. I knew that with just alittle better air I was there. The good air came...I launched to a new best 60'..1.49...and at the top of 3rd gear the driveshaft let go and shot out the side of my car. I think it was the launch that cracked it. The timeslip showed that I was on a 10.95 or better run. AT the 8th mile ..already coasting...I set a new best 8th mile by .5. I had my 11.03 et time covered at the 300ft mark by .12...oh well. I will have everything up and running soon and in time for the good air the first of the year.

Missed my goal, which was to have a Moser 9" installed and to be running 12's with stock engine and stock manifolds.

Had family problems so I had to spend the 9" money, which means that I couldnt launch for crap at track without worrying about breakin the stock rear.

best time this year was 13.69 @102, which was in vegas at 2200 ft elevation.

I moving to Shreveport, louisiana....which is 2000 feet lower in altitude with better air....so provided i get the 9" in, I should do even better than a stock long block, stock manifolds 12.90's pass.(gonna try for 12.70's which should be fairly easy)

Come Se ... Come Sa

1. Win 3 Finals in the Wednesday Nite Street Brackets - 5 finals, 2 wins.

2. Rookie Year in the NHRA Summit points ... qualify for Team Sacramento and go to the Section VII Finals - Not even close, never got out of the first round. But, I picked up this advice and learned it's lesson - there 10,000 ways to lose a drag race

3. Compete for my local club's stock internal/bolt-on record - Made it, 12.12 @112.8. Set a secondary goal of hitting 11s when the cooler weather hit, on stock internals. But it wasn't to be, locked up an injector and washed out #5 cylinder Good news, it was fixed under warranty and the dealer, installed a Hot Cam and set of heads for me - pick up the car tomorrrow

Goals... so... far... away... I came no where close to them.

Good news is, it might run right for the first time in about 3 months.

YES and NO

NO...
I was wanting to hit 12's with the new 383 and old rear (non-posi) axle but only managed a 13.5 @105.

YES...
I wanted to get a good rear axle w/ a posi installed. GOT IT.
But now I still need stickies out back cause the Radials have no chance at all once the rpms are up on the launch!

2003 reasonable goals are:

Definate: To get the sticky tires installed, engine tuned for optimum performance, and to RUN 12.teens N/A!!

Maybe: To get a nitrous kit and secondary fuel system, install them, and then run high 10's! (then get booted off the track for NO cage )

Late...Heavy

PS-congrats to the people that met their goals!

I crushed my goals for this year.
I wanted to go from 13.61 to 12.9's with a Hot Cam.
Well I am running 12.3's all day now. I am real happy with the outcome. This time next year I hope to be one of a very few 11.9 Hot Cammed Stock headed LT1s out there. If that goal is met early in the season I will be bolting my GTP Stage 2 heads on that are sitting here in my garage just calling my name & saying " Come on already!! I'll get you your 11 second times. Bolt me ON!!!"

Back in April when I bought the car it ran a best of 14.62 in the quarter bone stock. I just wanted to be in the 13.9xx by the end of the year. Well I have ran a best of 12.94 with only bolt-ons right around Thanksgiving. So I believe I exceeded my goal by far.
Looking for 2003 to bring me into the 11.9xx with bolts-ons and then run into the deep 11's with a cam, stock heads and only bolt-ons. Then the car goes to the wife to race at the strip and I will find a new toy. Do I hear a Buick GNX crying out for my attention?

totally underestimated the car and exceeded my goal of 11.99 the second night out with an 11.86. had about 125 pounds extra in the hatch to get it to hook better. from then on it was detune because of no rollcage for one and can only run 12.00 in highschool class. which i fell short of that goal by breaking out in the final at the div 3 finals. for next year im going to make it really hard and go for 11.49 or better. it ought to be rough getting that, but isnt that what its all about. good luck to everybody next year.

Talking

Met one goal that I have always wanted to do, however modest it was. Picked the tires up about 3 inches and carried them about
6-8 feet. Now this was N/A and didn't do much better on the 50 shot. Next year we try some SERIOUS N2O shots and see if we can take them tires a foot high.

I met my Goal it was to get in to 14.6s on a limited moded out car lol.

My car is a 87 Iroc-z with the stock 350. the only mods we have done to her is hypertech chip, an air foil, & cut off the bottom of the air box. she did a 14.68 at the 1/4mile
Was so happy even though I redlit lol
