Sooo, I yanked out my a/c, weight reduction #'s within

So, last week I yanked it out and I finally got around to weighing everything:
Compressor: 14.5
a/c radiator thingee: 8.5
pulley and metal bracket: 2.0
silver bottle thing and bracket: 2.5
Misc metal and rubber lines: 2.0
Misc bolts: 1.0
Total 30.5 pounds off the nose
Not bad at all
Also it opens up sooooo much room under the hood
Pics will be posted sooner or later

This is on a 1997 v6 firebird
Now, I just gotta get some damn traction!!!!

Don't forget the evaporator, in front of the heater core.

If it took off 250lbs I wouldn't do it! Even here in the North East it's to damn hot in the summer without AC. To each his own, but my answer to carrying around that weight is: more boost!

i've also remove everything from my car and i can now change my plugs in 20 minutes!! do you have any suspension work done to your car? i just installed some lakewood 90/10 drag struts and 50/50 drag shocks and an adjustable control arm and my 60 ft. improved from high 1.7's to 1.58 but my tires did spin about half an inch on my rims so now it's time for some screws and i hate to do it but.....
p.s.--i think i might have met you at some toms river gathering once. i'm friends with mike 00 ss..some impressive #'s your car runs!

That was his a/c radiator thingee ie: condensor.

The "silver bottle thing and bracket" is the receiver dryer.

There's also an evaporator (like a heater core) inside the heater box that's part of the AC. That probably weighs another 10 pounds but you need to disassemble the entire heater to get at it.
