Reccomendations on 15" rims for drag racing
Reccomendations on 15" rims for drag racing
I'm looking for a set of rear wheels for my DRs (275mm, will replace with 315s when these die).
I don't want to drive them on the street, just need something for the 1/4mi
Can anyone suggest a good set?
1993 Firehawk with a 2002 Camaro SS rear end and 12" disc brakes.
I'd really prefer not to have to shave my brake calipers if I can avoid it.
I'm more interested in price and function than looks.

Might better get some 16x8 stocker wheels and DRs for them.

I had 15x8.5 Convo Pros with a 5" backspace..They did fit, but they hung out a little too far for my taste...Can also look at the Centerline Telstars in the 15x8 with the 5.5 backspace..These supposedly fit without mods and will accept 275 50 R15s...I just sucked up and bought Bogarts and they are absolutely awesome...

15 x 8 Telstars fit. No clearance problems with the inside of the wheels.
They give the car a real muscular look.
But, I had/have problems with the outside of the tires getting cut by the top fenderwell. I pounded the sharp edge up and in against the underside of the fenderwell. Stopped the cuts.
I have QA1 double adjustable shocks and may have had them too soft at the time, but I occassionally see new rubs/burns from the rounded fenderwell even though they are set stiff.
This may not be a problem with stock shocks.
They need an additional 1/2" to 3/4" backspacing to fit perfectly.
I can send pictures if you send me your e-mail address.

My car is on sportlines (lowered 2.xx"?) and has adjustable shocks (currently set as firm as they go)
