Another track question

hey guys,
I am pretty new to the whole track thing. But just ran the 1/8th mile yesterday, and ran a 8.01 at 87 MPH, with a 1.87 60 ft. time. I know a lotof you guys are real good with this stuff, so I was just wondering that by judging by my trap speed of 87 MPH if I might be able to get my times down a little more with a better launch, etc. I know everyone says your ET has tons of factors in it, but your trap speed is a better reflection of the actual power in the motor. So I was just wondering if 87 MPH and 8.01 in the 1/8 mile is a pretty normal speed to time correlation or not. Thanx in advance for your answers....

Re: Another track question

We went 90/91 on a 60' short 1/8 mile track with 1.6RR's,shorty headers,exhaust,LT4 springs and a tune. This was with BFG T/A radials and a 2.0/1.96 60' time and a 3700# car with a 4.10 gear and a 6 speed.

Ya may want to look into a tune but an 8.0 is fairly respectable for stock and a few bolt on's.
A 10th on this end is worth 2 at the other.

Yea, that's about right... could be a few more MPH depending on your mods.
