Question on eibach Drag springs

Hey, will these springs reduce my 1/4mile time even if I'm getting good traction already. Also, can you cut these springs about an inch and still keep there performance.

Re: Question on eibach Drag springs

It depends on many factors. It takes time for the car to transfer weight properly and in a properly set up chassis less energy is wasted going up and down than in a straight line.

My suspicion is that if you do not have a problem with traction the springs will not help and there are likely other areas which you would want to improve before fixing something that isn't broken.

Why would you want to cut the springs? Lowered cars are generally more dificult to hook up. I use the Eibach springs and my car sits about 1/4" taller than stock.

Re: Question on eibach Drag springs

The stock rear springs really aren't too bad. A buddy of mine with a convertible was running 1.4x 60-fts with the Eibach Drag Launch springs in the rear. He swapped them out for my stock Formula coupe springs, and with a few other changes made it down into the 1.3x range, and hit a best of 1.30 with the stock Formula springs.

The Drag Launch springs will raise the back of the car about 1/2".... at least mine did. I wouldn't recommend cutting springs.

Injuneer are the 98-02 ws6 springs the same as your formula? i have a pair of these ws6 rears laying around and was wonderin if the would cut my 60' times down. I have 93-97 v6 springs in the rear now, but the spring rate is 95lbs/in and ive been reading that making the car squat isnt what you want as far as energy transfer.

Check out a stock eliminator f-body, they all have thier noses burried in the ground at rest and they are running the tall front runners. Ask one of them what front springs they run. The LS1 cars that I know are running a cut down Eibach spring.

My rear Eibach drag springs lifted the rear of my car a minimum 1 ½” over the stock springs. Also for those not aware, the Eibach rear drag springs are asymmetrical with a different ratio of turns on the left and right spring. So, make sure you get them on the correct side. My car is low in the front and high in the rear. Also with adjustable QA1s up front.
