I littleraly took a few pages out of your book (well, article to be more precise) and lightened the hell out of it. I took your hood idea and took more out of it.

Hey John, I know you don't know me but I think that is a tremendous job of paying attention to every little detail. I think that shows people that an lt1 plant can hold it's own against the ls1. Also, if you could shoot me an e-mail about all the little things as far as weight reduction it would be much appreciated. I am trying to go 9.50 with my all motor lt1. It has already been a 9.90. I know if I could get it down to 2835 with me in it plus the additional motor work that I have done it will do it.

Mines a Formula. Where do you guys go to get weighed? The scale isn't usually hooked up at my track on the nights that I go on. So I have a nursery down the road from me that has a calibrated scale (albeit to +/- 20 lbs) and it showed my car to tip the scales at 3400 even. That's without me, 1/4 tank of gas, !spare and jack, !front sway bar, !A/C, and Bogart bigs and skinnies. I know there is ALOT of stuff that could still come out of it but another 600 lbs is just incredible. Do you have pictures of your engine bay? Interior? I am definately interested in all of these tricks but I don't know if I will (or even can) go as far as you guys did. Excellent work.

95 firehawk-look for a CAT certified truck scale, there should be one around fairly close. Make sure to straddle the scale that way you can get a front to back weight.

Not really though... they start out weighing at least 3370 lbs....

John.. holy crap dude, that's alot of MPH.

Based on my estimate of what you might weigh (i have no idea).. that car must be down to 2650 or so? Where in God's name did you pull out 700lbs of weight

Congrats dude!

I did that when I lived in WA. Back then it weighed 3480. After everything I did above I only lost 80 lbs.

I'll have to look around and see if there are any that are somewhat close to me. Thanks.

sorry guys, had a lot of crap come up at work after getting back from vacation and haven't been on the board. I will get some pics together soon, but there are random pics online right now from different projects that can help everyone get an idea of how it looks, I will be back on shortly to answer all the questions, I had a few minutes to kill between meetings and just checked in...

here are a few underhood shots, not exactly sure when they were taken, because my work internet doesn not allow me access to my home site so I can't see my own pics, lol...

*** EDIT ***
OK from the time stamp on the post I linked to it was before the last round of weight reduction, so I may need to take some updated pics...

but as for interior here are a few pics, again not exactly sure what they are of right now though...
