linelock
Sure. As an added safety, install a master power switch with a pilot light, that prevents activating the line lock with its push-button, unless the master switch is armed. I have a Hurst, but there are many other good ones, mostly cheaper than the Hurst. Pre-bent lines are available, making the install a lot easier.
If you're not hung up with cosmetics, Biondo is a favorite among racers.
You'll never notice it with street use. Your brakes will work like normal. You use a momentary switch to activate it so you'll never accidentally turn it on and leave it on.
To use, it's plumbed into the front brakes only. You step on the brakes, sometimes pumping to build more pressure then push the line lock button and release the brakes. The line lock holds the pressure in the front brakes allowing you to do a burnout with no rear brake pressure. When the linelock is released, the front brakes release.
On the street, the car would never know there's a linelock installed even if you push the button while driving since there's no brake pressure to hold and as soon as you release the button, the lock releases.

A problem I've seen with my own line lock... a short locked the solenoid, even when the momentary wasn't pushed. Fortunately, it happened when I was trying to take the car off the trailer, so no big deal. Using the master arm switch completely prevents that from happening.
Maybe the guy a Jeg's was thinking front wheels for the burn-out and all wheel line-lock for the launch. Again, that isn't allowed in the No-E classes.
