Hoosier 28x10x16 slicks??

Is anyone running these slicks? I've talked to 1 person and he's had good results. I was going to go with a 15" Draglite with 26x10 ET Drags, but I could just use these slicks with my salad shooters. Saves alot of $$$. I'm running the discontinued 26x10x16 ET Drags now and they are pretty worn. Opinions? Thanks.

I know they have some people using these. They are on back order at Summit.

Thanks. I wanted to know if they were comparable to the ET Drags, and if alot of clearancing is necessary to fit the 28" tire.

Hoosiers

That would be me.
I am running Weld Draglites 15 inch but on a 99 I had to cut some of the metal off the brake caliper with a spacer.

Anyway; Hoosier drag slicks rock, I am very constistent now on my 60 foots and the do not sway down the track like ET Streets do, they are solid straight. Even with 12 psi!!

Roll backwards into the water trough, roll out about 3 feet to dry pavement, light um up for about 4 to 6 seconds and when you feel them start to dig in (traction) let up off the brakes and let it pull foward to the line spinning (this is very important) but let off 10 feet before the line (dont' get close to the starter) Stage and let her rip. This was information I got from Randy at Orlando Speed World, manager/owner and track prep guy; this really works. Now your competion!

The hoosiers are 15 x 10 x 26. I chose the 15 inch tires and rims for tire flex and it works!

I have a question for anyone that has run 15 inch welds on a 93 - 97; will I have to grind the rear calipers on my 93???

OH, one last thing. Take your finger nail and press it into a Hoosier Drag tire and then do it to and ET street or Nitto; there is a huge difference in tire composition. Hoosiers are very soft!

Jim

Only guy I cam think of is qwik8racr (sp?) in the drag racing section of www.ls1tech.com, Troy has 422ci C5 and he's running those tires on CCW wheels on his 98 C5. He's cut some high 1.4's I hear.

Oops, Chris Pippy aka Chris ARE 360 over there too had a set perhaps he has a pic of them on his 98 Formula.

I think you might need to deburr the front bottom part of the inner fender and might need to trim the back, I am running 28x11.5x15 Hoosier slicks on my 98 Formula and had to do that, my car has cut 1.48-1.50's on these at 16psi cold.

I m running 26x10.5x15 on weld pro stars and they look kinda silly because the back spacing is off and they stick out of the fenderwells about an inch. They do hook like no other though. I also had to shave the caliper before they would fit. Before that I had to use 2 5/8" spacers on each side. If you know anybody that wants to buy them I would be willing to part with them.

good luck
