If you're only going to put them on the front and for drag race use only, Weld Draglite 15" x 3.5" with 1.75" back spacing and 5/16" spacers will work without grinding the calipers. You will need longer studs to be safe. I use ARP 12mm x 1.5", part number 100-7708 through Summit.

Yeah I'd be using them for drag only. I mean it would be ok to drive on them to and from the track though, right? As long as I don't drive like a maniac?

As long as the road is relatively straight and smooth These rims bend easy, so hiting a pot hole, or even rough road, while going around a corner can ruin them. That's why Weld specifically states, "FOR DRAG RACE USE ONLY".

I agree not to use Front runners on the street they will break going around a corner and trash your car.
XPs are heavier than regular pro stars but they are still lighter than my salad shooter / bridgestone combo.

I drove a set of Convo Pro fronts from St. Louis to Memphis before. If you've ever travelled I-55 down to Memphis, it's not the smoothest road ever made.

JWINN, even I'd be hesitant about running those on the streets and I run Bogarts. They kinda look like Welds, but I can't place them. I know I've seen them before.

So it wasn't too bad then? Its not bad going to my track. 90% of the ride is down the garden state parkway. I don't think it'd be too bad on them.

I've got the other Centerline wheel, the Telstar. I daily drive them in the summer. For an LT1 car, they're direct fit. No spacers, no grinding. LS1's you've got to do some caliper grinding.

You girls must drive your car's on some of the worst streets in the United States! I have drove these wheels on public roads for some time with no problems. Now if your doing corners like a formula one car or hiting pot holes then no explanation would be required why you have bent wheels.

I had a drag car with spindle mount frt wheel and I drove this on the street for years without tacoing then if I hit a small bump and if anyone has ever seen a spindle mount rim it is even lighter then the rim I currently have in the pic. A rim that is for drag race use only is the legal disclaimer for the retards that want to use the rim as they would as there OEM rim, beating the **** out of it.

Be carefull with a drag wheel on the street and you will not have any problems but if you are a young senseless kid that wants a drag wheel that has the strength of a road race wheel,4X4 wheel and so on then nothing will hold up for you. I would suggest buying circle track steel rims because at $50.00 or less a rim you then can afford to act like a retard with them.

Advice to live by,
Jim

You definitely haven’t seen the wonderful work MODOT and IDOT does on the highways.

I had no problems w/ my Convo Pros. The car actually ran better in the rain w/ the skinnies than w/ a wide tire.

Are you kidding me I live in Michigan. You know snow, snow plows, bad roads. Just drive with sense and never drive slicks in the rain.

Good advice to follow!

Jim

Preachin to the choir man. I’ve been running skinnies for the last 3 years and never bent a wheel. My Convo Pros were perfectly round and my Bogarts had no problem w/ a country road @ 50mph.
