Does Anybody Else Have To Use A Catch Can For This Problem??

I got to drive my new th350 setup yesterday for the first time. When I get it high up in the rpm's in first gear, I get a little squirt of fluid out of the tranny vent. Someone told me it was normal and to get a catch can, another guy said its not normal....any body shed some light on this issue for me? I know I dont like the smell of burnt tranny fluid when I shift

sure it wasnt a little high on fluid? my Th400 is real touchy... if the fluid is around the full mark, it will spit fluid out the overflow. if i keep it down in the middle of the "ok" area, or towards the low end of it it doesnt spit

I don't think you need a 'catch-can'--see this:
