Damm thats really awsome Vince!....The best I have been able to run was a 5.98...Your car is really movin, Ive turned mine up a few notches and dumped my 8-rib blower belt set-up for a serious Cog-set up looking for another 7-9 pounds of boost, I want to run a 5.80 @120+ in the 1/8th and 8.90@150 in the 1/4.....159mph thas just sick!...good luck with your ride I should have mine back on the dyno and to the track in the next few weeks

Vince hopefully it will happen soon. I'm gonna get the car tuned finally. Still haven't done that, just threw the carb on and set the floats and idle screws. I need to get a tighter converter and less gear also.

Taner,

Sorry no video. We don't have a photographer type person around to do that job yet. I have a few stills but they are nothing special. If I get some I'll be sure to post it. Race weight? Sure. The scale at TMP park said between 3325 and 3350 all weekend. I thought my car was lighter but it sure isn't. I gotta get 300 lbs out of it. I have some idea's but it takes way to much time to discuss them here.

Yellow Z,

You have that car working the bottom half of the track. Way to go! Hope you get out there soon and get the job done. Best of luck to you.

Big Rick,

Oh yes the converter gear swap deal. Been there and done that. Wait until after you do that work and car slows down on the motor to dog ****. Everyone says your a lier and that they don't believe you. Or that your spraying on your motor passes. Its all crap but be prepared it takes time to find the right combo again and in the middle you might hear a bunch of crap. Good luck and I hope you hit it right the first time.

Madman,

November? Louisiana? Jeez man I live in the great white north. by November I have to be riding on my dog sled! Send me some info but I doubt I can make it. I own a snow plowing company and November through April is prime time for me. Let me know.

Vince people know what I run already, they've been to the events. I don't care what they think because to me it doesn't matter as long as I get into the 8's. It sure would be nice to see you in November. The shootout will be a 500 entry fee, winner takes the pot. Stock suspension 3rd and 4th gens 10.5 tire. Hope to see you there

Big Rick,

Thats cool. Some people just have a way of twisting facts. As long as your good with it great. I hope you hit the 8's soon. I agree its all worthwhile and the talk means nothing once the board lights up.

$500.00? Kinda steep. Its there a guaranteed payout if only like three cars show up? I would really consider it if there was a say a $4000.00 guarantee on the purse. How big a 10.5 can be run? I would ideally want to run 29.5 x 10.5w. Right now I am on a 30 x 12.5 ET street and its a little to slippery for my taste.

Vince the rules are

Must have stock style rear suspension. (shocks, springs and lower control arms must be in stock position)
3000lbs

The entry fee is $500.00 and must be paid by Oct. 8. Winner takes all. The race is Nov. 8.

If you want send me some pics of the rear of the car and we can see if everything is legal.

Madman & Big Rick,

Interesting idea. I will speak with the rest of my team and see if they have any interest first. Its a long way for us but it might be worthwhile.

Taner,

DaSilva Day, Labour day weekend. London/St Thomas. See you and the rest of the ARE crew then.

Way to go vince. Get that thing hooked up and make the drive to the thunder shootout. Here is the link to the race details http://www.thundershootout.com/ . Madman is having a race in a race. He can fill you in on the details. basically a run what you brung on a stock suspension(mounting points)...winner take all. The more cars that race..the bigger the pot.
