WOW - this thing is rich

Had to get on the dyno tonight just to get my a/f readings for Ion (Madwolf) to tune. I'm actually suprised a bit that it put down the power that it did considering it doesn't have a lot of mods and it's missing quite a bit of supporting mods such as 1.6rr's, e/wp,pulley etc...

Car is completely emissions legal w/ Hooker shorties, small nitrous grind cam, and a cat-back as the only real horsepower making mods. The converter, drag radials and 3.42 gear either rob it of horsepower or do not make a difference at all.

The car is pig rich and needs leaned out terribly. 11.4 across the board on the second run and dipped down to 10.8 on one run. I'll scan the sheets and post them tomorrow. I wasn't going to post this at all - some will say somethings wrong, some may say BS.

Anyway, here's the numbers:

313/356
11.4 a/f

Going straight back to the dyno once Ion is done with the tune. Can't wait to hit the 12's again.

I bet you can get 330 out of that thing.

I was reading in High Performance Mag that they dynoed tuned and set the a/f at three different levels. 15:1 for cruising (gas milage) 12.5:1 for WOT and 13.5:1 for idle. How they got around the pcm wanted to correct it to 14.7, I don't know. Maybe they didn't know that it will so they didn't say.

Every car maybe different but setting for low, middle, high a/f's at these ranges seems like the way to go if you had the time and money.

Yeah, madwolf is working on a tune right now. To be fair and honest, both Bryan and Ion have great working relationships with this board - Bryan has tuned a few of my friends cars and has nailed the tunes for them. I personally went with Ion because he has taken the time to speak with me about my car at length. He was even helping me when I was trying to learn TunerCat - that speaks volumes about his customer service. Honest guy and does great work according to the board but taking time out of his day to help me is what sold his service. I have little doubt that his tune will get me back in the 12's.

I'd love to squeeze 330hp out of it - that would rock especially considering I don't have rockers or water pump, pulley, etc.. yet. WooHoo
