hope this is ok to post here...
got an innovative wideband w/ number display only. i was thinking about leaving my autometer phantom narrowband guage in the car and splitting the wideband output to both the innovative guage and the phantom guage. do you think splitting this will affect the reading i get? (i wanted a guage w/ both the sweep led's and the afr number (like the aem or the phantom wideband) but i thought since i already have the innovative that i might be able to hook both guages up. what do you think?

The wideband output signal is 0-5V. The stock narrow band output signal is 0-1V. So the AutoMeter gauge is looking for a 0-1V signal. The Innovate should have a narrow-band emulator signal (0-1V) output that could be hooked to the AutoMeter. But you can't hook the 0-5V signal to the narrow band meter and the wide-band meter.
ahh. i forgot about that. thanx for the info...well in that case, is there really gonna be any difference between having the narrowband on the stock o2 sensor like it is now and changing it to the simulated narrowband output of the innovative unit? hmm now i dont know what to do. i dont really want to keep the narrowband but i dont want to replace it with the innovative black face number guage. you guys have anything bad to say about the AEM widebands?
Just use the narrow band output from the wideband controller. It will simulate narrow band results that back up the wideband reading and basicly give you the sweep like you want but it will give you the a/f that the wideband is reading.
Not a direct answer here but I like having two sources of 02 sensor results... any combination of NB or WB just to make sure things are reading right... I've had NB wiring problems and WB sensor problems, each one easily diagnosed by comparing the two readings with how the engine is actually running.
just to be clear, does this mean instead of the narrowband reading between 14-15:1 (or whatever it reads), it will read between a bigger value (like 10-20) or is that only if i use the wideband output and/or change the values in the tables (can i even do that?) i think i'm getting ahead of myself, or maybe i'm just trying to make this too complicated
I think what he is saying is that with the Innovate, it has 2 analog outputs, one is a simulated narrowband 0-1v that you can use with your PCM (or gauge), and the second is wideband 0-5v so you can display wideband AFR. So you could put the wideband in the stock O2 location, running one output to your PCM/gauge, the other to your wideband display.

yea thats what some people will do is to replace one of their o2's, put the narrowband analog out to the stock o2 harness wire and run the wideband analog out to the wideband guage. i thought about doing it that way but wanted to put the bung for the wideband after the ypipe. i was just curious to find out what the difference would be if i used the innovative simulated narrowband output wire and hooked it up to my narrowband guage as opposed to just leaving the narrowband guage hooked up to my stock o2 harness/wire
ok got it hooked up and i'm glad i stayed with the innovative. i put the new guage in and also left the old narrowband guage in and it was rather simple. the wideband output went to the wideband guage. and the narrowband output went to the narrowband guage so you can still have a sweep display and it can actually display the wideband value (no longer just a light show). you can scale the narrowband guage to whatever values you want (i made it so that the red/left side of the guage is 7:1 and the green/right side of the guage is 22:1. i used those values because thats what the innovative values are from/to. i'm going to change it so the narrowband guage will read from 10:1 to 18:1 or maybe 11:1 to 17:1. anyway, just figured i'd post this if anyone else was interested
