Wideband install question

On my wideband, it says the recommended spot to install the bung is no more than 30" from the exh port. How important is that? Is it to avoid and chance of exhaust leak affecting the reading? My only concern is I wanted to get an avg of both banks to do my tuning. Is it safe to tune based off of one banks readings? TIA

What wideband controller are you using? It should be "temperature compensated" to make it less sensitive to operating temperature.

I wouldn't go any farther back than 30 inches because it will not stay hot enough and will carbon up. Btw the dynojet WB Commander guage is an autometer guage and they can change the bezel color to black for $20 so it will match your interior.

I did see the two different gauge faces on dynojet's website. I opted for the white face to match my ultralite gauges.

I wound up sticking it near the factory o2 sensor on the pass header.

I installed my Dynojet WB O2 on the left side bank on the cross over pipe from the header. The instructions say to maintain a 10 degree down angle @ minimum (water???). No problems encountered with this install. I also use a 2nd auto meter gage and split the input signal from Rt/ Left O2 by use of a spdp switch. I can monitor O2 voltage outputs relative to the WB O2. B.
