ok i just got my cable from akm with the converter and everything and it doesn't work with freescan i mean it just doesn't connect. i tested the pins on the db25 going from the computer to converter and the is 5.56v going in and the ground is grounded to laptop. does the ground on the ALDL (pin A) need to be chassis grounded to the car or what? i can't find any info as to whether or not this is a problem. anybody have info on COM port settings for such a cable? (i.e. bps, flow control) any info will help.

 

got it working now. using freescan it told me that my spark advance was 48-50* advance at WOT is this normal? cuz i thought around 35 was
