Turning off VATS in LT1Edit

I have Lt1Edit and since day 1 I tried to turn of V.A.T.S in my 96 Z28, it gives you that option on the very first screen (In the function enable tab), i turn it off but when I try to use a key without the chip I still get the ¨Security¨ warning in my dash and obviously the car doesn´t start.

Anyone knows if I´m doing something wrong? Do you have to turn off V.A.T.S in another place? Please let me know guys if you can give me a hand.

You have to do two things:
You have to turn it off in the PCM like you did (this will enable the injectors to be pulsed).
And you have to bypass the BCM in order for the starter to actually engage and turn the engine. Either you install a dummy resistor instead of the resistor pellet in your key or you have to bypass the TDR relay.
This is explained in depth in Shoebox's site.

Elchoclo,
Why are you using a key without the 'chip' (it is actually a resistor)? It is a much better idea to repair the VATS. I will be happy to talk you through repairing it so your theft control stays intact.
