tuning stuff

Ive seen some people tune their bolton cars with the HPP and what ever the guy on ws6.com used and he seemed to get some good gains in milage, performance emissions etc... I have tunercat and was wondering if there was anything out there like that I could download for an internally stock lt1, and if not what sorts of things do they change, im not asking you to tell me speciffically how to reprogram my car just what sorts of things do they change and generaly how are they changed? Got to put this program to good use its been sitting around for ever.... BTW I have datamaster too so I can see what im doing if thats useful info for you in any way...

Hypertech's power tune consists in changes in timing and wide open throttle air to fuel ratio. Those two tables are a good point to start.

The only thing i found that the HPP3 does is to increase the spark advance @ WOT between the RPMs on 2000-4000 RPMs by an average of 4 degrees and it actually decreases spark advance by about 3 degrees on average from 4000-6500 RPMs. I did not find any air fuel ratio changes as stated above. I was using LT1 edit to compare stock file to a hpp3 file.

I used to have a HPP3 file that changed the fueling. I can't remember if it was in the rpm or temp table though.
Also, adding some timing between 2000-4000rpm and taking some timing out from 4000-6500 sounds like a good idea to me.
Stock timing is up around 37-39 degrees in the high map, high rpm section of the table. I have yet to see a car make more power with more than 36 degrees. And adding a little timing down low shouldn't hurt either.

I added 2 degrees across both tables in tunercat I think I may adjust that after hearing some of the comments here, I may just take a couple degrees out above 4k and add another degree in teh lower rpms and go drive around and log it to see how it all works out what you think?

Play with the 95/100 KPA cells. Those are WOT area.

I want better part throttle timing as well though should I not mess with it for some reason, hear it helps with emmisions and throttle response and milage...

Only thing I could tell you about part throttle timing is to play with it in 2 degree increments and see how the car feels each time. Not a very good method but it works well enough for me.
On my stock Z I seem to have found a spot where it just feels torquier and throttle response is noticably better.
