tuning for idle and maf questions

alright my idle is a little low and my lterms @ idle are a little high/rich (around 7-8 gm/sec in the maf tables) so i adjusted them a little higher (x 1.025 - 1.05), and after programming the pcm, i turned the car on and it just died after a couple seconds. i started it and had to give it gas to get it to run and when i let off, it died again. i put the previous tune back in and it's fine. i thought cutting a little fuel would help this but do i need to do something different? or something with the timing instead? what tables are normally used for adjusting idle?

At idle, what is your IAC count?

IAC count: there was a point that i was idling for about 40 seconds and the IAC counts went from 115 and gradually went up to 140. then went down after i started driving again.

this is what i have the gm/sec set to in MAF table #1 for the current tune compared to the new tune that that car shuts off on.

1st column = Hz
2nd column = Current tune
3rd colump = New tune that shut off the car

Hz gm/sec gm/sec

1488 2.66 2.66
1616 3.11 3.11

I think you need to open your throttle blades a little more to get your IAC counts down to 40-60, then go from there.

Re: tuning for idle and maf questions

if i do that and it ends up idling too high, would i just adjust the target idle tables to put it back down?
