timing tables for a stock cam..
anyone have any recommendations for a tune running stock pretty much, its a 97 engine using obd1 computer, pretty much stock, slp cai, slp airfoil, descreened maf, flowmaster catback, egr deleted, air deleted. the maf was descreened when i got it..
what i did notice was with the stock tune is that the timing went up to like 44degrees, just seems excessive for a stock cam...
heres the stock timing tables in the car when i got it..
adding this: i also noticed that i'm getting about 2 or 3 degrees more advanced from somewhere, i read something to the effect that this is normal, so should i drop timing to account for this?

this is what i have so far, any suggestions?
i loaded this and gave it a try last night, i know it runs better, seems to pull better on the bottom end and midrange, just has a funky 9degrees retard on the deaccelleration around 4500rpm..

There is advance added to what is shown in that table. I think its been traced to the IAT temp or something. Might want to try a "search"... this questions has been asked a lot over the years. I don't recall the specifics, because I haven't been using the factory PCM since 1999.
