Stuck in cells 16,17,18

Please see this thread for more info on my troubles.

So, I am now using a B-body PCM with a F-body tune with just emissions deleted, gear change and fan temp changes. In closed loop, I'm stuck in cells 16,17,18 and my backfire hesitation is back. But with a Y-body tune(Not $EEB) in the b-body PCM everything is fine except stuck in cells 16,17,18. I must have done something when I turned the emissions off but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

Ok, I solved this problem. When I turned of the error codes for emissions I also tried to tun them out by changing the enable rpms, temp and map settings for EGR and CCP. I put those settings back to stock, left the error codes unchecked and now I am seeing other cells besides 16,17,18. Does this hurt to leave those set like this? When I am logging I see EGR DC moving around as well as CCP DC.

Thanks
Brian

No personal experience, but based on a quick google search, it's probably the CCP that was forcing you into cell 18 instead of 1-15. So you can probably still disable the EGR in the tune.

Just a WAG, but maybe you had the CCP settings backwards, and you were turning it on all the time instead of off?

I would think it might not be optimal if the PCM thinks the EGR or CCP is active, but it's really disconnected. Tune might be off under those circumstances. Again, just guessing...

Thanks Steve,

Yeah, that is my worry if I leave these tunes in. The only setting I can find for CCP is "Canister purge enable temp" and I had that set at 150 deg c. Which seemed to disable it becasue when I logged the drive when the cells weren't moving CCP never showed any DC. But this last drive, it was at 100% almost the whole time. So, im not sure where to go on this.

Put the ccp settings back to stock disable the codes and forget it if you've removed it, it will not affect performance. You can also leave egr stock and disable the codes, as long as you zero the egr timing table that comes with it.

Its fine for the charcoal cannister to purge a lot of the time as long as you aren't at idle. The entire point of the system is to bleed pressure/fumes from the fuel tank that builds up as the fuel warms from making the loop from the tank to the fuel rail and back.
