Question Stock Engine w/ some tuning

I know this isnt a place for asking for a tune, but i have been messing with my TunerCat and am wanting to see some different programs for like bolt on stock internal engines. I would appreciate if anyone has anything like that, that they would like to share.

There's little to no performance to be gained (and plenty to be lost) by changing the tune on a stock motor. There are still valid reasons to reprogram the PCM. Such things as shift points, rev and speed limiters, controlling the fans, deactivating CAGS, turning off the knock sensor, programming for tire size or rear end ratio, etc. But generally if you mess with the timing or the fuel mixture you will lose performance.

The factory calibration is a little rich. So there are probably a few hp to be gained by leaning it slightly at WOT. But this needs to be done cautiously and it can induce detonation if the conditions aren't perfect (engne and air temps, octane, etc.). And it can result in loss of hp if there is minor knock induced which sets off the knock sensor. At worst, you could cause engine damage if you make it too lean and drive it really stupid, though this much less likely on an NA car than one with a SC.

I never ever ever loose performance when i "mess" with the fuel or spark tables on a stock motor or even totally stock car for that matter. TO be honest theres quite a bit to be had by "mess"ing with the fuel tables.

Usually around 25ftlbs and about 13-18hp at the wheels.. If you don't think i'm telling the truth i can referr you to a good handful of people, testimonials and timeslips.

I've got a jpg of a bone stock 6 speed's timeslips on the exact same night 3 runs with my chip and 3 runs without. I would post it here but it has my buisness's name on it and i don't advertise here. ($$)

Cheers!
