ses codes

are they any way to read the ses codes on a 94 camaro without buying a scan tool.

You need either a code reader or scan tool. Don't buy the code reader that sells for about $25 - $30. It won't work, regardless of what it says on the packaging.

You might be able to convince a local shop to do a free code scan for you. I think some autoparts stores might do that, also.

I know on the older GM ECMs you could short two pins on the diagnostic connector which would cause the SES light to flash in sequence, revealing stored codes. But I don't know if this works on 94-94 LT1 PCMs.

'93 was the last year the pins could be shorted.
