Here is a closer shot of my cable separated into it's 3 individual parts. I actually bought it many years ago from the same website you linked earlier. I suppose I could try buying their more simple 1-piece USB to ALDL cable. I might check my ABS module first to make sure nothing came loose there.

EDIT: I went back into my email history and it looks like I bought this cable in 2009 from AKM Cables who don't appear to exist anymore. I bit the bullet and ordered a new 1-piece cable from OBD Diagnostics. At least I'll be able to rule out the cable if anything.

New cable arrived so I gave it a shot and everything worked perfectly. Scan9495 gave me my ABS code in a fraction of a second. So the perpetrator was my old cable. Case closed!
