Question Reusing a tune and pulling a tune...

... currently I have a heads/cam stock sized motor with a relatively good tune. This week I am putting in a 383 with the same cam and slightly better flowing heads. Would it be safe to reuse the tune that is on the car already, just for the time being?

I will also be getting a PCM that is already tuned for this motor. But it has a 6speed tune, where as my car is an auto. Is it possible to pull the tune off of this PCM without installing the PCM, or would I be better off installing this PCM and changing it for an automatic car?

I have Tunner Cats and what not, how involved is it to change a tune from a 6speed car to an automatic car? Is this a simple process or is this something that gets a little more involved than I am going to want to do? I really do not have any tuning experience, other than pulling a tune and or loading a tune, so basically I am asking if this is something that an amateur could do or would I be better off paying someone to do this for me?

I forgot to mention, one main difference between my tune and the tune on the PCM for this motor is my tune is for 36LB injectors and the PCM coming with the motor is for 30LB injectors.

I'm no expert, but my intuition is that it would probably be within the 25% it can adjust in closed loop. I would datalog it to make sure. I'd sure stay away from WOT.

That said, if it was me, and I had a correct tune coming in the mail, I would wait until it got here.

Install the M6 PCM, download the bin, manually copy the fuel and spark tables into your A4 bin, then upload that program. A bit tedious, but easier than actual tuning.

Might need additional tweaking for the A4 with the bigger engine - somebody more knowledgeable will have to chime in there.
