Go to the control panel, open system, right click over the device you trying to put on irq5, goto resources then change the settings. I don't know off hand what the settings for irq5 is, but you can goto cramsession and find out or do a search on www.google.com and find it. Hope this helps.

First, check and see if something else is already using that IRQ. Go to My Computer, Control Panel, Device Manager tab, and double click on the Computer to see your computer properties. You'll see a View Resources tab already open and a list of your IRQs and what devices are using them. I'm not sure about all the specs on your system, but in general, if you have a PCI modem, your modem enumerator will be using this IRQ. If this is the case, you'll first need to switch your modem's IRQ settings in order to set your sound card to them. If you give more info, I might be able to help you more.

Sorry, didn't see you posted your info on that site. It should be as simple as going into the Device Manger, selecting your sound card, and taking off auto settings (click the box to remove auto settings), and changing the address for the resources. If you can't do this, something else must be wrong.

DOOM Master, when I do that, it says "No modifications allowed"

btw, in the autoexec.bat... it sets it to IRQ 5 anyway, but it doesn't take it

Strange, I can't think of a reason why it won't allow you to change your settings. Does it have any conflicts listed on the IRQ it is currently on? If no, then try altering your autoexec.bat to take IRQ 10 (I think that's the one it is currently on, right?). Perhaps that is what is causing the problem on IRQ 10. If not, it's really hard to tell you anything else over the internet. I'm sure if I had the computer in front of me, I could fix it. But I doubt you live anywhere near Pekin IL.

Lightbulb

You got SBLive
Sb live emu the Sound Blaster which uses IRQ.
Plus your SC(SB live) is PCI, which controlled by PC Chipset controller Chip.
If any thing you can do is play with your Bios/PCI set up.
I would recomend Set in your bios for Plug play OS
Install newest driver for SB live.
This sould do the trick
If you need more help U can always PM me
Good luck
