406s make more power than 400s I don't get it?
My friend was just telling me a 406 will make loads more power than a 400 how is this... it is basically a 400 with 6 more cubic inches added some how... they should have about the same top rpm and they should have very close bore and stroke. Can anyone tell me why this would have more power than a 400?
um.....well is he talking about a 400" stroker motor or a 400" motor with a 4.125" standard bore?
Cuz you can make a 400" stroker motor by putting a 4" stroke crank in a 350 block with a 4.030 bore i believe

Most of the 406's I've seen are just .030 over 400's. Doesn't mean one couldn't be built around a 4.x bore with the right stroke though. So who knows what he's talking about... my guess is that he's confused.

i dont understand this board. this is a general tech question, but it gets to stay here. but when someone asks about an odd stroker it gets moved to the general tech board. why is this. someone just move what they want, or is it favorites like knowing the posting person or what? this is just seems kinda funny to me
