PCMForLess.com FREAKING OUT - To Much Work - Maybe Pick Someone Else?

I just called PCM For Less with a quick question, took 3mins of his time on the phone and I decided just to send him the PCM and let him flash it. I have the .bin file all ready, not asking him to do any tuning, just flash it. He said $50. I said and I quote "$50, hmm that's a little heavy, no tuning just a flash".. (saying it very respectfully)

then it starts... "you know what, take it to someone else".. Then he goes on for about 45seconds complaining that hes been at the the dyno all day, and hes got 9 pcms shipping out today and he has not seen his kids is so long and how long the drive from his shop to the dyno.

I would have gladly paid the $50 is he was respectful about it. But he had to go and explode on a customer. Not good for business. If you can handle it buddy, then maybe its time to get out of the game?

ok im done.

I'll do it for 30 if you cover shipping both ways. I'll even change anything in the tune if you'd like. Your PCM is service tag #16188051, right?

Let me see if I can understand this... you didn't like his price, challenged it, didn't get a price break from him, so you figure you'll post here and trash his business.

Hmmmmm.......

haa no not even close. maybe give that another read and slow down this time so you can understand it. (no disrespect intended since your a mod, wink)

Challenging the price is the American way. And I was very respectful about it. All he would have had to say was "Sorry man, I need to get $50 for that job" and I would have gladly sent it in for him to flash. BUT HE decided to go off the deep end, bringing personal affairs into business (complaining that hes working to much, no time to see the family) Very unprofessional.

anyway. I realize this is the wrong section I posted this in, and in a effort to avoid conflict on the forum I think you should delete this whole thread. HE will make his own reputation, and he has helped me make my decision on who to go to for PCM work.

I too did not have a stellar customer experience with pcmforLess. I do it myself now. A very bad purchase decision by me. HTH B.

I'd have calmly said, "Ok, I will." and hung up the phone and started calling other tuners.

that is exactly what I did. I didn't give him any grief on the phone. I let him vent, said thanks anyway, and bye. Its not worth getting into stuff on the phone or online (on in person for that matter) we all have better things to do with out time. I just posted here because if someone was looking for a tuner, they may want to steer clear of a person who is so overloaded with work he cant function on the phone.

Sounds a bit hypocritical.

I'm not addressing him, or trying to start anything with him. Just letting other know that's hes far to busy to work on pcm, go elsewhere.

I don't like the way you handled this on the forum. What he did or did not do is irrelevant. You don't air it out here.

I guess he has his bad days like all of us do. I have spoke with him several times and most were pleasent. However the last time which was about 3 yrs ago, I ask him about some issues i was trying to work through. I wasn't sure if it was a mechanical problem or something with my new tune. His solution was that i needed a "match and lighter fluid". Needless to say i went elsewhere, got a new tune and my problems were fixed. Again I think just depends on the mood he is in and how much stress he is under. We all have our good days and bad ones.

I think his post and the way he handled it on this forum is great, he told his story how it happened. This is what forums are for. Im also happy ENRKyle20 told us $50 to flash a pcm, and we also know 9 PCM's for PCMforless is a big deal. Again, now we know.

We also know who else is a little flustered around here.

To me the original post is a gross over-reaction. And we only have your side of the story - "polite" means different things to different people. Just seems sad that because you had 45 seconds of bad experience, you basically want to post something like this in what appears to be an attempt drive him out of business, or at least cost him a few customers. I guess that's "the American way" too, in your eyes. To me its just mean and nasty.

Maybe he's read your threads and seen the endless problems you seem to have with things, and doesn't want to get involved.

And yes, I did read it s-l-o-w-l-y, and I read it several times, to try and find some reason that it wasn't a real nasty post. Couldn't find anything that pointed in any other direction. Thanks for the disrespect "wink". You seem to feel that because I'm a moderator, I can't express my personal opinions.
