PCM from an Impy?

i recently found out that my pcm is dead. it won't take any programming changes and probably hasn't for as long as i've had a flashing SES light (16 months). will an OBD 1 pcm from an impala work as a replacement for mine? obviously the pcm from the impy was for a car with an auto trans, but i'm hoping tunercat can get around that. we have a tune up ready to load in the new pcm as soon as i get it, so i'm hoping this might be a cheaper alternative than the stealership.

can anybody tell me for sure if the pcm from the impy will work?

Yes, last four of the part numbers should match. 8051 I believe. Once you load your program, the auto tranny will be no problem.

It should work just fine. Just make sure you load up a M6 car instead of an A4 car tune (if you need one, I can send you one, I have both 94 and 95 stock tunes for A4 and M6). I am actually running a 94 Fleetwood PCM in my car, thanks to my PCM frying back a couple years ago. It's funny when you read my file and it tells you that I have a 4 door Cadillac (I'm too lazy to edit the VIN to my car's).
